On Top Of The World
On Top Of The World
He always longed to reach the cloudless sky,
To feel the blue, the breeze, the bright.
He never should.
Too scared to breathe, I told him no,
Sometimes you have to let things go.
It was in his eyes then, the sparkle.
Found him on the highest mountain
Shivering on the edge, looking down, hesitating
I took his hand and pulled him back.
In the end, I cut his wings,
And he was lost.
Just like me.
